Laura Fuentes (ORCID 0000-0002-8799-2369) graduated with a degree in Chemistry from the University of Alcalá (UAH) in 2018. She earned her master's degree in Electrochemistry, Science, and Technology from the University of Córdoba (UCO) in 2019 and completed her Ph.D. in Chemistry at the Autonomous University of Barcelona (UAB) in 2022, under the supervision of Dr. Libertad Abad (IMB-CNM) and Dr. Nieves Casañ (ICMAB). Her doctoral research focused on bipolar electrochemistry.
Since 2023, Dr. Fuentes has been a postdoctoral researcher, supported by the "Yo Investigo" research grant, working within the Green Chemistry Catalysis (GreenCat) research group. Her current work focuses on biomass valorization across various applications, including the preparation of biomass-derived materials for CO2 capture and conversion via electrochemistry, the development of carbon dots for temperature and pressure sensing, and the transformation of biomass into high-value products through heterogeneous catalysis.
